Having a few set pieces in your closet is a must. I have been building a “staple section” of my closet for years now and I have a few tried and true pieces that I will share with you here. There are a few things on this list that I have loved for years, while others are more of a new revelation for me. Whatever your style is, these are some great pieces to start a wardrobe. So let’s get started!
My Pendant Necklace – This is easily my top staple. I almost always wear a pendant necklace whenever I don’t feel like wearing anything else. Or if I don’t feel like making a decision and just throw on the pendant that is closest to me. I have four pendant necklaces like this that I wear on rotation, but this initial necklace from Kate Spade is definitely my top one!
My Loafers – No lie, I have at least a dozen pairs of loafers. And I am always on the hunt for more. What? I love them, they’re comfortable and stylish, and they’re way more fun that your basic flats. Just look at all these fun styles! And if you’re still not convinced, check out all (pretty much all) my outfit posts on here. I will never not love loafers, and you can take that double negative to the bank to buy you a crisp pair of loafers.
My Tote Bag – This is the bag I carry with me almost anywhere. It’s my work bag, audition bag, and sometimes grocery bag. I’ve had this one since late summer and it’s held up pretty well. I have lately seen some signs of wear, but I will use it until it falls apart or breaks or gets too gross for me to use it. Get a tote it’s worth it, especially for you city slicker gals. A carry all tote is a must for you chicas!
My Watches – I wear a watch everyday, like your retired grandpa who still wears one everyday with slacks and button down. Weird? Yes, but I don’t care. I’ve always liked watches, and I wear one everyday at work because I don’t keep my phone on me. Plus all I have to do is look down and there’s the time! Any time I look at it! You laugh but they’re great and a functional accessory. Who doesn’t love that?!
My Scarves – Last but certainly most stylish and what I love the most: my scarf collection. I have loved scarves for as long as i can remember. I used to wear a bandana in my hair like a tiny maid, and who can forget my monogram scarf that I bought at the farmer’s market? Well I don’t, and I have always been obsessed with them. Nowadays i wear scarves similar to this, but my love for them stays true. They instantly add color and style to any outfit, and my collection only seems to get bigger and bigger…. oh well!
