Ah, sleep. One of life’s necessities and great pleasures. I love to sleep, which is good because I need a lot of it. A lot more that most people, anyway. For me I have to get at least eight hours of sleep otherwise I’m utterly useless. No really, it’s true. Just ask my mom, she’s the one I inherited this lovely trait from. I won’t hate too hard on her though because I just love to sleep so much anyway! It’s a blessing in disguise, and an excuse I use to get out of stuff I don’t wanna do.
Sleep also means dreaming, and boy am I a vivid dreamer. I have always had crazy dreams, nightmares or otherwise. Ever since I was a kid I remember some crazy dreams that I’ve had, one of them involving me rescuing my dad and sister from a gang of ice cream eating thugs who had taken over my hometown. Yeah that was actually a dream I had as a child, and yes I still remember it vividly. Deja vu is also a real thing for me, like I have deja vu from my dreams all the time. I mean at least once a week all the time.
But sleep is something that doesn’t always come easily to me, especially for the past month. For some reason I have been having a lot of nightmares and weird sleeping patterns. I don’t know if it’s my room or the fact that I am going through a big life change, but my sleep has been way off. Way, way off.
Which is why I have been taking it easy in my daily life. But that means that I am working less on everything (auditions, the blog) and not doing as much fun stuff either. Hopefully this will get fixed soon, but it’s nothing that some Zzzquil hasn’t been able to fix. I’ve been using it all week and it’s worked like a charm so far! But I would like to get back on track because I am way behind on work and life.
What’s a girl to do in this situation? Sleep in, sleep in, sleep in. I love sleeping in more than almost anything and it’s a good thing my bed is one of the most comfortable. I could stay in that bad boy all day. But then I wouldn’t be me because I have a lot of work to do and plans to fulfill.
So here’s to you, you “needs a solid eight hours” sleepers, you nappers, train sleepers, or something in between. Let us all get enough sleep to get our work done. What’s your go to number for hours of sleep needed?
