Recently I started to take stock of my blog. I started to plan my year, what I wanted to accomplish, do gain, and how to get there. This required me to look back on what I’ve done so far and see what works and what I can improve on. One thing I need to improve on is putting more of myself and opinions into my posts.
Everyone that knows me in real life knows that I am very opinionated and am not afraid to share said options. I have an opinion on pretty much everything and I know what I like. And what I don’t. So I asked myself, “Why am I holding back some of my opinions on my blog? I have ideas and opinions!” I realized something though: I was afraid to share my opinions on the internet.
Once you post something online, it’s there forever. I was worried that people would see my posts and hate what I wrote because it was too opinionated or they wouldn’t agree with me. But who is going to agree with you on every subject all the time? No one. That’s not how life works. Once I got over that (and let’s be honest, I’m still not over that) I felt so much better. I realized that if I am ever going to grow this blog or my writing, I was going to have to put myself, opinions, and ideas out there.
So, I’ve decided to put myself, the real me, into ALL my posts. And with that, I am starting a new segment: Maggie O On… Every week or two I will be sharing my thoughts on a subject. Nothing too political or religious (this isn’t a place I talk about that stuff) but other things. I will be posting one later this week, but I would love something that you would like to see me put on here. Comment below and let’s get some discussions going!
