Timing is everything. Or so it seems to be. Everyone tells you how important timing is, but what is time at times? Sometimes I have a hard time (see what I did there?) getting a grasp on time. What is time, am I right?
For me, timing is everything in a sense. I believe that when you’re in the right place at the right time, that’s when the magic happens. You get your dream job, meet your dream boyfriend/girlfriend/etc., or you walk by a food truck giving away free tacos. That last one has never happened to me, but a girl can dream. Anyway, a lot of timing has to do with being in the right place at the right time.
Now it’s not every day that you’re in the right place at the right time. Frustrating, isn’t it? There are weeks when it seems like I can’t catch a break no matter what I do or what mood I’m in. I try and try but nothing is really going my way. It’s annoying because it seems like I’m failing at life. Hard. But in reality I think my timing isn’t playing right.
I’m not saying that you have to know you’re timing in order to become a successful person. What I’m saying is that forcing things into place never works. No matter how hard I work or push, sometimes it all comes down to being in the right place at the right time, whatever that means to you. Head space, workflow, literal space in the world. It’s all about right place, right time.
Whenever I can’t get in the right head space or literal space, that’s when I take a step back. I sit back, catch my breath, and then get back to my work or life. It’s not always that easy, but for me if I take some time to sit back and regroup I have a clear headspace. Form there I look around at what I need to do, or not do, to get my life or work or whatever in order.
But is that all there is? I don’t know the answer to that one. Sometimes there’s a moment or two when something happens that is so surreal and happenstance that you can’t help but think: I’m in the right place at the right time right now.
What do you think? Is timing everything, or is time irrelevant?
