It’s no secret that the holidays are my favorite time of year. And by that I mean all the holidays. I love an excuse to get dressed up or dress up the house for the season. I deck out my apartment for pretty much every occasion: fall, Halloween, Christmas, the list goes on and on.
That said, I get super excited for the holidays every year. I love to decorate, shop for presents, listen to music, and watch Christmas movies! I’ve already watched four or five and it’s not even December yet, plus I decorated the house the Monday before Thanksgiving. Something unheard of for me.
One of the reasons I think that is this year is because this year has been hard. The political and social climates are abysmal and it was just a tough but rewarding year for me. So I needed a little cheer early this year! And I’m determined to keep the holidays a happy and special time. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good year.
I’ve got most of my holiday shopping done and my decorations are up, so now it’s time to celebrate. I want to make this holiday season truly special this year. I have lots of wonderful memories from past holidays and it’s always wonderful to spend time with friends and family.
Of course now that I don’t live near my family anymore it will be more friend time than family. But I think that’s a part of growing up and moving out. If I lived closer to my family I’d probably see them more. But I don’t and can’t for the things that I want to do with my life, so I’ll settle for a few days near Christmas.
New holiday traditions are what I’m also looking forward to this year. I will be talking more about this next week. Right now I am getting excited to do all things Christmas! I have a list of things I want to do before Christmas comes and I hope I get to do them all!
A few of the things on my list include baking, watching movies, Christmas parties, going to Christkindlmarket, and going out to see all the Christmas decorations! I can’t wait to do everything on this list, and I hope you get to do your fair share of holiday activities as well!
