In honor of Women’s History Month I thought I’d write a post on it. And it’s this one! I am centering this around a book I finished reading two weeks ago. I want to share this awesome book with you and talk about some of the awesome ladies in it.
I bought this book a month or two ago (on Amazon here) because it seemed like an interesting format. Spoiler alert: it is. It is a compilation of interviews of women that are all makers, artists, and entrepreneurs, or some combination of those three. Basically all these women are inspiring and it’s a delight to see and hear from successful artists and entrepreneurs.
The women are asked the same set of questions in the interviews and I love the wide range of answers they give. A question that I liked to hear everyone’s answer to was what they thought success was. What I found amazing was they all had similar answers. It isn’t fame or recognition (although that is nice) but being able to do what you want to do for a living, and for a lot of ladies it was also being able to be their own boss. That’s something I like and aspire to some day for sure.
My favorite part of this book was that we got a glimpse into every woman’s workspace or home (sometimes it’s the same thing.) I got plenty of inspiration from that for decor (I am currently updating my apartment!) But I also liked seeing them in their own space and how much it reflected their work and personality. This book has lot of inspiration, hope, and ideas, and all you ladies should read it if you need any of these things, plus more!
Have any women you know or look up to? Give them a shout out for Women’s History Month!
