The holidays are my favorite time of year to dress up. Everything is just a little more festive than usual, so it gives you the liberty to dress just a little more festive. I am all for dressing up for the holidays because I have my go to holiday pieces I wear every year! Last year I wore this to a holiday party and it was a huge hit! This skirt is also another go to for me for the holidays.
But how do you get go to pieces for the holidays you ask? Well I’m glad you asked! For me, I don’t go out of my way to look for these kinds of items, but when I do find them I snatch them up. I got this skirt I’m wearing at a vintage store and knew it would be a staple in my closet for wintery festivities for years. My advice if you are looking for festive items is to dig around. Figure out what you like, want, or need (ex. a velvet tank or glittery tights) and hunt for it. It’ll take time for the harder to find or bigger items, but once you have them they’ll never leave your closet.
I’ve had my festive skirts for years and add my regular pieces to it. I usually wear this sweater with pants or jeans but it goes perfectly with this skirt. It’s all about using your basics and well worn pieces to compliment your festive items. Play around and find what works. Have fun holiday outfit hunting!
