Summer is officially here, and that brings back all of my favorite summer traditions. Going to the beach, the park, the zoo, and of course picnics! There’s something about a picnic that makes me feel like summer is really here, and eating al fresco is one of my favorite things to do. This summer, I’m picnicing (is that a word?) in a different city.
For this picnic I will be eating in Lincoln Park with my friend, and ice cold Coca-Cola™ and Coca-Cola Zero™. This summer, sharing an ice cold Coca-Cola has never been easier. This year they have over 1,000 names, first and last! I will be on the hunt to find mine, as well as see what names they have added. I have always loved looking at the different names, and they have added so many the fun can continue!
I picked up my ice cold Coca-Cola at CVS on the way to the park, which was super convenient. We stopped by CVS to get our Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero and were at the park and enjoying them in no time. CVS has two for $3 if you use your CVS Extra Care Card, and they have so many names on Coca-Cola for summer, plus it’s a great place to grab your Coca-Cola and go to a summer event. Sharing an ice cold Coca-Cola this summer is easy with CVS, and click here for more summer fun ideas with Coca-Cola! Some of these look so fun, and it makes me want to go to a lake ASAP. Anyone have a lake house they’re willing to lend me??
For my picnic I decided to go nice and light for food. It was a warm day (thank you for FINALLY showing up, summer weather) so light food and ice cold Coca-Cola seemed best for a day like this. I packed up my market tote with food, my picnic blanket (tutorial that I made mine on here), and Coca-Cola, and headed out for a refreshing picnic. I prepared my food and packed everything up in my market tote and it all fit so well! I always use a cooler as well to keep my food cold and it fit into my bag, with enough room for my food and drinks!
I stuck with fresh fruit, veggies and salad, a light pasta salad and pita bread for carbohydrates, and ice cold Coca-Cola to wash it down. Now I was lazy and bought my pasta salad pre-made, but I made my salad myself. The key for a great summer salad is to add nuts, fruit, and a light dressing like raspberry vinaigrette. This meal was so light and delicious and washing it down with a Coca-Cola was the perfect end to the meal.
Summer and Coca-Cola go hand in hand for me, because it was what I remember drinking in the summers as a kid. I remember when my dad would coach my sister’s softball game he would buy a huge Coca-Cola and he would always let me drink some. Or I would sneak some at times, because it would get so hot in that dugout when I kept score for him. It’s moments like this that make me love summer and Coca-Cola has been a part of my summers for so long and it will be for years to come. Here’s to many more picnics and ice cold Coca-Cola in the summer. How do you enjoy your ice cold Coca-Cola on a hot summer day? Get inspiration here!
