It’s October, and October means Halloween. However, I’ve been planning and getting my Halloween costume ready since September. Partially because I plan ahead and also because once I got the idea for this costume I was obsessed. I’ve been wanting to do this costume for a while and the timing was right.
This year I am going as Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service. A great movie you need to watch if you haven’t already! This movie and character has been one of my favorites since I was a kid so I thought, why not? I did some online searching and found this dress from Forever 21 and it was PERFECT. The color and style is just like Kiki’s in the movie! My flats were and easy find as well and I got a great deal on them from Old Navy!
I love easy Halloween costumes, and even better if you can pull from your closet! I bought these for my costume, but they will easily fit into my closet once Halloween is over. I have some other easy costumes listed below, perfect if you’re low on cash or don’t have time to get one!
Rosie the Riveter (I was her last year)
- Green skirt + Purple Shirt (bandeau if you’re feeling’ flirty) + side braid + fork = Ariel (bare feet not required)
Red Riding Hood
If you can DIY more power to you! That can really step up a costume. My bow was a piece of felt that I rounded the edges on and hot glued to a headband. My broom was a wooden spoon and straw I cut, wrapped in twine, and hot glued to the spoon. It’s Halloween so get creative!
What are you going as?
