I thought it would be fun to do a little behind the scenes post. This is where and how I work from day to day on this blog and my other work. Most of the time I spend on this blog is spent alone working at my desk or in a coffee shop. You guys usually see the finished photos or the end product, which is a fully fleshed article. So today I am going to be sharing what I do and look like from day to day.
I like to keep my desk relatively cleared off and clean, but I usually have these notebooks here. I keep my planner, blog notebook, and writing notebook on hand so I can access them easily. My planner keeps me on track and I can schedule things as needed, so it’s important to have it right by my side.
I usually wear something pretty casual when I’m working at home. I either keep my gym clothes on from my morning work out or I change to street clothes. I don’t like to wear anything too uncomfortable or distracting because I want to be comfortable and focused while I work. That means no bracelets or clothes that cling or dig while I sit for long periods of time.
I keep some of my books on the shelves of my desk and I love looking at them. The fun covers can inspire me and I sometimes reference them while I’m writing. My bulletin board is also a fun inspiration for me to look at while I’m working. There’s not a lot on the board right now but I don’t like it to get too cluttered.
My favorite part of my workspace is the lights on my desk. When it’s cloudy out or darker in my room I like to turn them on so I can see. The lights also give off a warm glow that makes my desk seem perfect and cozy for work.
