It’s almost Halloween! I am so excited because it’s one of my favorite holidays (okay so I love every holiday but Halloween is dope.) And I love dressing up, but this year I didn’t have much time to put a costume together. So, I picked a costume I’ve been wanting to do for a few years: Rosie the Riveter! It’s a pretty simple costume to put together and I have how to make this costume plus a few other simple but cute costumes!
Rosie the Riveter – Super easy and cute guys. Get a denim or chambray button down, a pair of jean shorts, and a red bandana and you are all set! Just roll the bandana up into a headband, tease the front of your hair into a pouf and put the rest into a bun. We can do it!
Mary Poppins – Another fun character to try on. This one needs a white button down and black skirt and of course the necessary accessories. A black umbrella, a black hat, and a red bowtie will complete this ensemble and bonus points if it’s an umbrella with a bird head handle!
Minnie Mouse – A great excuse to wear your LBD if you’re not much of a costume person. Just throw on a black dress and converse and mouse ears, or go all out and find a red polka dot dress and white gloves! You really can’t go wrong with this one so get creative!
Flapper – This is a very easy one if you have no time at all. There are lots of 20’s style shift dresses at retail stores or go into any costume shop and buy one. But if money is tight raid your friends closets for sparkly shifts and headbands. Feather boas are always encouraged.
Holly Golightly – Another great time to break out your LBD. Just throw that on, stands of pearls, and your biggest cat eye glasses and viola! Get long black gloves and a cigarette holder to complete the look, and even better if you can put your hair in a french twist!
Happy Halloween! What are you going as?
